Account & Data Deletion

Important Notice

Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. All your data, including profile information, tasks, meetings, prayer requests, and other content, will be permanently removed from our systems.

How to Request Account Deletion

Step 1: Send a Deletion Request Email

Response Time: 5-7 business days

Step 2: Identity Verification

We may ask you to confirm additional account details
Respond from your registered email address
Verify your phone number if provided during registration

Step 3: Confirmation & Processing

You'll receive a confirmation email before deletion
Your account will be deactivated immediately upon confirmation
Data will be permanently deleted within 30 days
You'll receive a final confirmation email when complete

What Data Will Be Deleted

Account Information: Email, password, phone, authentication credentials
Profile Data: Name, picture, bio, church membership details
User-Generated Content: Tasks, meetings, prayer requests, comments
Activity Data: Usage logs, notification preferences, interaction history
Location Data: Saved addresses, location preferences
Device Information: Push notification tokens, device identifiers

Note on Shared Content

Content you've shared with other church members (such as public prayer requests, task assignments, or meeting notes) may remain visible to other users for church operational purposes, but will be anonymized and no longer linked to your account.

Data Retention Exceptions

Legal Compliance: Some data may be retained for legal, tax, or regulatory purposes
Security & Fraud Prevention: Logs for security purposes
Backup Systems: Data in backups will be deleted within 90 days

Alternative: Temporarily Deactivate Your Account

If you're not sure about permanent deletion, you can request to temporarily deactivate your account:

Suspend access without deleting data
Remove yourself from notifications
Reactivate later if you change your mind

After Deletion: Creating a New Account

Your previous data will not be recoverable
You can create a new account with the same email
Church administrators will need to reassign roles and permissions
